Join us for a program of Rabindranath Tagore’s love for nature through music, narration, poetry and dance. Concept, Script and Music: Dr. Sudeshna Basu
Rabindranath Tagore embraced nature as an integral part of his whole being. When Tagore started his own experimental school Santiniketan (the abode of peace) in the tradition of India’s ancient ashrams (schools) in Tapavan (forest hermitage), he imbibed this aspect of inseparability of human life and nature through celebration of the seasons, planting of trees and harvesting the land. These celebrations were done with music, poetry and dance. We hope to create a similar atmosphere through our humble offering.
