Student Programs

This spring the Gandhi Memorial Center is offering special student programs in cooperation with the DC nonprofit organization, CHIME (Children’s Help in Music Education) as well as MOMIES’ TLC. The Gandhi Memorial Center also receives visits this year from American University, COEUS International School, U.S. House of Representatives Page School and The Outdoor Daycare.

These programs include:

March 12: Dr. Brian Q. Silver’s “Raga-Time”, an introduction to Indian classical music on sitar. This program was offered to Third Grade students of Friendship Public Charter Elementary School of Southeast Washington, DC.

May 2 & May 9: Kuchipudi Kalanidhi Dance workshop will introduce Kuchipudi through music, mime and storytelling for Pre-K and Kindergarten students of Ludlow-Taylor Elementary School and Potomac Lighthouse Elementary School of Northeast Washington, DC.
