SPRING 2008 PHOTO CONTEST – “Visions of Gandhi”
PURPOSE:
- The purpose of this contest is to encourage individuals to creatively explore the ideals and message of Mahatma Gandhi through the art of photography.
THEMES: (Quotations from Mahatma Gandhi)
- “If light can come out of darkness, then love can emerge from hate.”
- “True beauty after all consists in purity of heart.”
- “Religions are different roads converging upon the same point. What does it matter that we take different roads so long as we reach the same goal?”
GUIDELINES:
- Submit photos you have personally taken that in some way portray one or more of the above themes.
- Submit up to three photos.
- Photos must be visually appealing with no improper content.
- Submissions may be from amateur as well as professional photographers and will be judged separately.
- Photos may be sent as digital or print images and must include: Name of Photographer, Age, Address and Email Address, brief statement of how the photo depicts the selected theme, and brief bio statement. Please include whether photographer is amateur or professional.

- Deadline is June 30, 2008.
- The Gandhi Memorial Center has the right to use any submitted photo with recognition given to the artist in website and print publications.
- An online gallery will be created for the top photographs as judged by a
panel of select judges including professional and amateur photographers.
- The artist is responsible for obtaining permission to submit the photo from any individuals included in the photo.
