OSHER LIFELONG LEARNING INSTITUTE
The Gandhi Memorial Center presents a course each spring for the members of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute of American University, Washington, DC entitled, "India: Culture, Traditions and Gandhi". This course introduces various elements of Indian tradition and culture through interactive discussions and presentations. Topics will include the Indian Classical Music Tradition; Art of India; Elements of Indian Literature; Indian Dance Forms; and the Life and Thought of Mahatma Gandhi.
DC ARTS & HUMANITIES EDUCATION COLLABORATIVE
In an ongoing collaboration with t, the Gandhi Memorial Center offering programs for DC Public Schools through the DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative and the Arts for Every Student Prgoram. Each school visit includes an introduction to the life of Mahatma Gandhi and a taste of the arts of India (music, dance, and visual arts).
Students participate in interactive sessions and discover the vast heritage of India while learning about the philosophy of Mahatma Gandhi and the experiencing the arts with visiting artists.
