"Dear Gandhi" - A Letter to Gandhiji - An invitation to students

To Students of all ages:

Mahatma Gandhi’s own writings have been collected into over 100 volumes. These include his books and newspaper articles as well as his correspondence with people all over the world.You are invited to write a letter as though you are writing to Gandhiji. If you mail your letter to the Gandhi Memorial Center and include the following, you will receive in the mail a photographic print of the Mahatma in return.

Your letter should be handwritten and you may also include artwork. Letters and artwork received by the Gandhi Memorial Center may be shared with the public. Your letter should include:

  • A paragraph about yourself

  • Three things you have learned about Mahatma Gandhi that inspire you

  • One question you would ask Gandhiji if he were alive today

  • Your name and return mailing address

  • The letter should be posted in the mail to the following address:
